The Main Cast

Holden is a VERY low stress and laid back individual that he attributes to his “do and say anything he wants” attitude. He‘s very cynical of the world and the people in it. Much of the comic is him giving his (usually cynical) opinion about something. This disregard for the world is the basis for his attitude. He often blazes his own path through life situations, outside of established rules and customs. He also thinks people have no credibility and are hypocrites by nature. He believes this gives HIM the right to be a hypocrit himself, often doing and saying contradictory things. Basically his thoughts and actions are on a whim. When talking, Holden doesn’t hold back. This gives him the aura of rudeness and disrespect.

The only person that Holden is fond of is his self proclaimed “sidekick”, Robin. This is mostly for ambiguous reasons, but its thought to be mostly for her strong will and views on life. He listens to her the most, although he sometimes doesn’t take the advice. He has a like/dislike relationship with his friend Dave, usually dislike because of his overly positive nature and crazy actions. He hates and often picks on Dave’s fiancee September, again for ambiguous reasons, but mostly because he just feels like it. They clash A LOT!

Robin is a very positive and cheerful person. This is in contrast with her past as an abused foster child. The abuse is them locking her in the basement for most of her life. Robin is a very intelligent girl but mostly naïve about the world. She learned everything she knows from the internet, her only link to the outside world from her basement dungeon. Because of her abuse, she’s a strong willed and determined person.

She met Holden when he rescued her from captivity and consequently got the abused foster parents arrested. They’ve been friends ever since. Robin spends her days following Holden around, providing a positive contrast to his constant negativity. Its because of this that Holden refers to her as his “sidekick”, although she hates that term. It's hinted that Robin also has a little crush on Holden, and gets a little jealous when another woman is around. Robin has no guardian despite being only 14, seemingly on her own in life. But Holden can be viewed as a sort of guardian for her (but he’s not officially). She’s also not enrolled in school, but instead home schooled. But because of her superior intelligence, she’s not actually taught anymore and she passes all home school exams.

Robin is never seen without her backpack full of her 4 dolls, the “Season Sisters”. To Robin, these dolls are her friends who helped her keep her sane while being locked up for her life. Now, they represent Robin’s hope, courage, faith, and her strong will to overcome obstacles (pretty bold words, eh?). The season sister dolls themselves are obviously modeled after Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn from the author’s other web comic “Niece Web”. In this web comic, they’re just dolls…overly cute dolls.

Other Characters

Dave is Holden’s friend and roommate, along with his fiancee September and Robin. Dave is a generally positive person, who is obsessed with various things. He is generally a straight man character, who has just a streak of below average intelligence and crazy behavior. He loves his fiancee very much. He views Holden as a best friend (although the feeling’s not mutual sometimes). He likes Robin a lot too (although not as obsessed with her as his fiancee is).

September is Dave’s fiancee, and lives with him, Holden and Robin in their apartment. She’s generally a sweet, kind and strong person. She loves her fiancee very much and will do anything for him. Around Holden though, she turns into the very definition of a bitch. She hates him with a passion that equally matches her love for her fiancee…which is a lot. She can’t stand Holden as a person, and frequently disagrees with his views of the world and life. In contrast, she adores Robin and frequently acts as her guardian angel and female role model. She frequently scolds Holden for his lack of protection over Robin, as she views him as Robin’s guardian (although he’s not). She usually acts as a foil for Holden and another “straight man” character for the group as a whole.
